The Jiyu Area is a public, free-admission zone situated along the museum’s facade.
Featuring the iconic Grand Gallery at its center, it is open to all and can be enjoyed at one’s own pace.

This lounge, with its round tables and chairs, originally designed for the museum, is the right place to look at works of art and the museum’s architecture, enjoy something to drink from the museum’s cafe, and chat.
From fall to spring, the louvers are open, letting soft natural light pour in.
This vast space changes its ambience depending on the season and the time of day.
This area’s staircases on the left and right, with their round and square landings, are quite distinctive.
Here is a place to chat or become lost in thought, surrounded by sculptures.
In the Safe Space for Children at the foot of the grand staircase, parents and children can relax and enjoy picture books together.
