Using the Library

• Admission and access to materials is free.
• Materials in the collection are not available for loan.
• Please leave your luggage in the coin locker upon entering the library. No items other than writing materials, laptop computers, and valuables may be brought into the reading room.

Open hours	10:00 – 18:00 (Last admission at 17:30)
Closed	Thursdays, Year-end and New Year holidays *Closed occasionally for special events or circumstances.

*Please confirm the schedule before your visit to the museum.

Searching the Library Collection

You can search our collection online from home or from the search teminal located in the reading room.

< About the Closed Stacks >

Most of our materials are kept in the closed stacks. Access to these materials is only by request.

Please use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) to search for materials, and submit the request form to the counter.

*Due to the preparation and display of items for exhibitions held at the museum, some of the books in the collection may not be available.
*If the condition of the material makes them difficult to browse, we may provide microfilms or other media instead of the originals.

Photocopy Service

• The library provides a photocopy service for a fee, within the copyright law.
• When making photocopies, you must fill out a photocopy application form. Please fill out the form and submit it at the counter.
• Please make photocopies on your own in accordance with the application.
• Photocopying may not be available in some cases due to preservation reasons.

Copy fees	Black/white: 30 Yen per page  Color: 100 Yen per page
Printouts from micro materials	Black/white: 30 Yen per page

*The photocopier in the library is for photocopying library materials only. Please do not use it for other purposes such as photocopying non-library materials.
*Photocopy service is not available by mail or fax.
*Please note that no refunds will be made for photocopy errors.
