The Route for Strollers and Wheelchairs

The nearest stations to the Yokohama Museum of Art are Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line (which connects directly to the Tokyu Toyoko Line) or Sakuragicho Station on the JR (Keihin-Tohoku Line and Negishi Line) and Yokohama Municipal Subway.

For those visiting with a baby stroller or wheelchair, the following illustrated guide shows the route to the Museum.

1.Route from Minatomirai Station to the “Yokohama Museum of Art (Main Entrance)”

①Take the elevator to the ticket gate, then exit the ticket gate on your immediate left. Go straight to the shopping building “MARK IS minatomirai.”

②Take the “South Elevator” in MARK IS minatomirai from B4F to 1F. All three elevators are available daily starting at 10:00 A.M. (Yokohama Museum of Art hours: 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.).

③Exit the elevator at 1F and proceed toward the back of the store.
*The stores in the image may differ from the actual stores.

④When you come to the fork in the path, proceed to the right as indicated by the yellow-green information sign above you, then go left at the end of the passageway.

⑤Follow the arrow on the information sign, and proceed toward the right.

⑥Go past the next sign straight ahead, and continue until you come to the next sign.

⑦At the sign above you as you arrive in the atrium area, proceed toward the left.

⑧Proceed to exit following the sign toward the Museum.

⑨As you go out from the exit , right in front of you stands the Yokohama Museum of Art, with the Main Entrance and Information desk in the center.

2.Route from JR Sakuragicho Station to the “Yokohama Museum of Art (Main Entrance)”

Go out from the East Exit from the North Gate (automatic gate only) or South Gate (staff will be available) of JR Sakuragicho Station. If you go out from the North Gate, the East Exit is on the right, and from the South Gate, the East Exit is on the left.

①Once you arrive at the plaza outside the East Exit of the station, head away from the station in the direction of the Landmark Tower Yokohama off to your left.

②Go toward the left of the Moving Walkway (escalators).

③Take the elevator up to the second floor, where the Moving Walkway is.

④Exit the elevators, then make a U-turn toward the left.

⑤Take the Moving Walkway to the left.

⑥After you exit the first Moving Walkway, keep going straight along through the next Moving Walkway.

⑦After you get off the second (and final) Moving Walkway, continue to proceed straight along the passageway.

⑧Proceed up the slight slope about 20 meters into the Landmark Plaza.

⑨After entering Landmark Plaza (you will be entering on 3F), proceed through the atrium area and down the passageway on the right toward the back of the area.

⑩About 25 meters ahead on the left, you’ll see these elevators. Take any of these three elevators to go from 3F down to 2F.

⑪Exit the elevators on 2F and follow the passageway to the left.

⑫Follow the passageway through the building.

⑬Arriving at the opposite side of the building, proceed through the exit to go outside.

⑭Take a left at the large metal sculpture circling above you.

⑮Proceed straight across the pedestrian bridge (about 100 meters).

⑯At the other end of the pedestrian bridge , you’ll see the Yokohama Museum of Art on your left. Enter from the Main Entrance, and you’ll find the Information desk.

To get from the ticket gate floor to the ground level, take the elevator twice.

①There is only one ticket gate, located on B2F. After exiting this ticket gate, proceed toward the left.

②Go all the way to the end of the passageway.

③Go past the escalators and take the elevator on the right from B2F to B1F.

④Exit the elevator and proceed to the left.

⑤At the far right side of the stairs and escalators that go up to the ground level, you’ll find an elevator. Take this elevator up from floor B1F to the 1F (street level).

⑥When you exit the elevator, immediately in front of you, you’ll see a passage going through the “South Gate (West Exit)” of JR Sakuragicho Station – proceed through this out toward the plaza at the East Gate.

⑦Once you arrive at the plaza outside the East Exit of the station, head away from the station in the direction of the Landmark Tower Yokohama off to your left.

⑧Go toward the left of the Moving Walkway (escalators).

⑨Take the elevator up to the second floor, where the Moving Walkway is.

⑩Exit the elevators, then make a U-turn toward the left.

⑪Take the Moving Walkway to the left.

⑫After you exit the first Moving Walkway, keep going straight along through the next Moving Walkway.

⑬After you get off the second (and final) Moving Walkway, continue to proceed straight along the passageway.
