About the Collection

The museum has a large collection of art from the late 19 th century through to the present day, including Dali, Magritte, Cézanne, Picasso, as well as works by artists who have been associated with Yokohama since the end of Edo period and through the Meiji period. As Yokohama is one of the birthplaces of photography in Japan, we are also proud of having a significant collection of photography. These works are shown in the exhibition ‘Yokohama Museum of Art Collection’. In addition, we provide various educational programs, including gallery talks, aimed at increasing enjoyment of the collection at Yokohama Museum of Art.
